Securing water tankers to flat racks

Two trucks fitted with purpose built trays to accommodate water tanks and associated pumping equipment for the transport of potable water were secured to 2 x 40′ flat racks.

To avoid potential damage to the cargo Thylacine International polyester 2,500 kg web straps and ratchet load binders were used to secure the cargo, chains are often the preferred method of securing this type of cargo however on this occasion chains were not considered the best option.

In addition to the 2,500 kg polyester web straps Thylacine International 2,500 kg axel straps were utilised to lash the cargo, the axel straps are ideally suited for this type of cargo as they are passed around the axels and securing point avoiding damage.

In addition to securing the cargo soft endless web lifting straps were positioned under each truck and secured at the top in order to facilitate a more efficient discharge.

Timber chocks are secured around the wheels to provide additional restraint.
